Open Spaces and Landscaping

Up to 33% of the new development area will provide new open space and planting

Central to the Money Hill development is the provision of public as well as green open spaces for community use.

This could include local play areas for different child age groups from simple climbing and play equipment to more adventure-type structures for older children. Allotments, a community orchard and general parkland for dog walking and informal recreation will be provided.

To develop an attractive and quality area to live, our proposals take advantage of the site’s current landform and the new community has been based around the natural features of the site, such as the copse, the Gilwiskaw Brook and existing hedgerows.

We will introduce a landscaped buffer area to minimise the impact of the new houses on existing residential areas to the south and west of the Money Hill site. This open space area will be enhanced with a mixture of trees and shrub planting.
